The UIGEA curse Playing poker is  exciting by itself, but playing online poker open more possibilities  than just spending a good time at a real physical poker table with your  friends, and yet you can invite them to join the fun on the Internet.  However the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 (UIGEA)  made illegal gambling for American and American-based financial  institutions that stopped their involvement with gambling sites  including poker rooms, to avoid , money laundering, bank fraud, and  violation to the gambling law. However if you are an American citizen it is always prudent to read  first the site disclaimer and terms of service to make sure what it the  site’s approach to the UIGEA or the posterior law provisions that  regulate a particular website. As in example, New York-based online  poker services are allowed by law and there is not problem for Americans  playing a hand at such places. Poker Cons Even though, online poker keeps being a controversial topic because if  it involves money, no matter how small is the rake nor how high is the  stake because betting money will always bring to your attention legality  matters involved with online gambling and the infamous Unlawful  Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006.
